Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is one of those conditions that can deeply affect every aspect of a person’s life. Chronic pain, fatigue, poor sleep, brain fog, muscle tightness and stress can become part of daily living for many sufferers.

Today, one of my Greenmount patients shared something powerful with me. She told me she had been speaking with friends who also suffer from fibromyalgia, and they were discussing the large number of prescription medications they had been placed on over the years. Her response was:

“Wow, mind blowing. I’m so glad I found you Bryan because in the three months I’ve been coming to see you, I feel 90% better and I don’t have to take any prescription drugs.”

Stories like this remind me why I’m passionate about holistic health care.

Too often, people are treated by only focusing on symptoms instead of looking at the bigger picture. The body is connected in many ways, and chronic conditions often involve multiple contributing factors including inflammation, stress, poor movement patterns, nervous system overload, digestive health, sleep quality, diet and emotional wellbeing.

A holistic approach means assessing the person as a whole.

This includes looking at:

  • Nutrition and inflammatory foods
  • Sleep and recovery
  • Stress and nervous system regulation
  • Movement and posture
  • Muscle tension and biomechanics
  • Lifestyle habits and daily routines
  • Gut health and digestion
  • Relaxation and breathing techniques

As a Naturopath, my role is to help identify these contributing factors and provide practical, realistic advice tailored to the individual person. No two people are exactly the same, which means no two treatment approaches should be exactly the same either.

I never claim to magically cure every disease or fix every problem overnight. But I do believe that when patients are willing to apply themselves consistently to the right advice, techniques and lifestyle changes, the body has an incredible ability to improve and adapt.

Real healing often requires patience, perseverance and commitment — but the results can be profound.

Sometimes the biggest changes come from addressing the small things we do every single day. 🌿
