MSIT quickly achieves long lasting results because it works on multiple elements of a problem at the same time. For instance, with most back pain, the problem is generally a combination of muscular and skeletal. In other words, the problem is bone misalignment and muscle tension combined.
Specialists in both western therapies (Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Nutritionists) and alternative therapies (Masseurs, Osteopaths, Naturopaths) usually only work on one problem in isolation. While isolated treatment can certainly help fix a physical complaint, it often takes a large number of frequent sessions to do so.
MSIT achieves fast results because the treatments are integrated within each session for maximum healing.
The MSIT process involves:
Relaxing the Muscles
Muscles are firstly relaxed through a combination of massage, oils and ointments and the use of physiotherapy equipment such as the TENS machine. This is an essential first step to relax and warm up muscles, tendons & ligaments before bone manipulation so that correct alignment is maintained long after the session is finished.
Reduce Muscle Inflammation & Increase Elasticity
Through use of acupuncture, inflamed & damaged muscles are targeted to reduce pain and improve elasticity, important for supporting correct bone alignment.
Manipulate and align the spine
Similar to chiropractic, osteopathy involves the manipulation and alignment of the spine to reduce associated problems in the back and in other areas of the body. The benefits of this important step normally only last a few days unless associated muscles have been repaired at the same time (as occurs in MSIT).
Correct nutritional supplementation taken in the days following the therapy session helps repair the body on a cellular level. The right supplements help increase the speed of recovery by reducing pain & inflammation, improving blood flow to the area and promoting cellular division, all of which help heal the problem.
MSIT is practiced exclusively by Bryan Carver, head of Thrive Wellness Centre. Bryan is an accredited Naturopath, who holds Graduate Diplomas in Clinical Acupuncture, and Remedial Massage and has also been trained in Osteopathy. This unique combination of skills has allowed Bryan to achieve results using MSIT which are both quick (sometimes only a few sessions) and long lasting.
