Who is the right chiropractor for you right now? It’s not always a one-size-fits-all answer.

Chiropractors are all extremely different from one another. I’ve been employing chiropractors for over 20 years, and in that time I’ve had around 15 practitioners work with me. Some didn’t stay long, simply because they weren’t the right fit for my patients or aligned with the Thrive philosophy and standard of care we deliver.

At Thrive Wellness Centre in Vic Park, Perth, we currently have four experienced chiropractors who have been with us anywhere from 2 to 10 years. Each practitioner has different strengths when it comes to treating back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, postural issues, and chronic conditions.

I personally receive treatment from all four chiropractors depending on what my body needs at the time. That’s the key difference—knowing which chiropractor is best suited to your specific condition can significantly improve your results.

Many patients don’t realise how important this is. They’ll often book with any chiropractor expecting the same outcome they experienced years ago with someone else. The reality is, the right chiropractor for your condition depends on your symptoms, your history, and how your body is presenting right now.

If you’re looking for a chiropractor in Vic Park or the surrounding Perth area, starting with the right guidance is key. Our reception team is trained to triage your symptoms and match you with the most suitable chiropractor for your needs—whether you’re dealing with acute pain, chronic conditions, or injury recovery.

If needed, feel free to ask for me—Bryan—and I’ll personally guide you toward the right practitioner within our team for your specific condition.

Staying on top of your health and addressing pain early makes a significant difference to your long-term wellbeing.

Book a Chiropractor in Vic Park

If you’re experiencing back pain, neck pain, or recovering from an injury, don’t leave it to chance—get matched with the right chiropractor from the start.

People Deserve Clear, Honest Information About Their Health So They Can Make the Right Decisions for Their Body.

Many people today feel confused about their health. They often receive different opinions, conflicting advice, and are left unsure about what the right path forward actually is.

At Thrive Wellness Centre in East Victoria Park, our philosophy is simple — patients deserve clear, honest information so they can make confident decisions about their health, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.

My Background

If you don’t know me already, my name is Bryan Carver, Founder and Therapist at Thrive Wellness Centre.

I have been in clinical practice for over 30 years, much of that time focused on helping patients understand and manage pain, injury, and recovery.

My journey began working out of one of Perth’s largest gyms at the time, Titan Health & Fitness, where I worked closely with athletes from a wide range of sports. During my first 20 years in practice, I had the privilege of supporting rugby union and rugby league teams, helping athletes manage injuries, recover properly, and return to performance.

Over the past 15 years things have slowed down slightly for me personally. Many years of very hands-on clinical work can place significant physical demand and stress on the body — something many therapists eventually experience themselves.

Because of that experience, I focused on building something larger than just one practitioner.

I started Thrive Wellness Centre over 10 years ago, originally in Ascot, before relocating the clinic almost five years ago to East Victoria Park, where we continue to grow and support the local community.

A Team Approach to Health Care

Rather than relying on one practitioner or one style of treatment, Thrive has been built as a multidisciplinary health clinic, allowing patients to access a broader and more complete level of care under one roof.

Our team currently offers services including:

Physiotherapy

Chiropractic Care

Remedial Massage

Acupuncture

Naturopathy

Herbal Medicine

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

Far Infrared Light Therapy

In many cases, the best outcomes occur when the right therapies are combined, rather than relying on just one treatment approach.

Different injuries, different bodies, and different health conditions require different strategies.

Why Information Matters

Even with a strong professional team around me, I still believe it is extremely important that every person who walks through our doors is given clear information about their health situation.

Understanding what is happening in your body helps you make better decisions about treatment, recovery, and prevention.

Sometimes people simply need someone experienced to review their situation and help point them in the right direction.

Supporting Patients With Injury, Pain and Recovery

At Thrive Wellness Centre in East Victoria Park, we regularly see patients seeking support for a wide range of health concerns including musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, inflammation, fatigue, nervous system stress, digestive concerns and general health optimisation.

Many people come to us after trying multiple approaches and still feeling unsure about the right direction. Our goal is to help patients understand what may be contributing to their symptoms and guide them toward the most appropriate therapies available within our clinic.

By bringing together multiple health disciplines under one roof, we aim to support better recovery outcomes and long-term health management for the local community.

Need Advice About Your Health?

If you are unsure about an injury, ongoing pain, or a health concern, you are always welcome to reach out.

If you would like to discuss your situation, you can call the clinic and ask to speak with me. If I am unavailable at the time, I will return your call so we can review your situation and help guide you toward the most appropriate care within our clinic.

Sometimes the right information at the right time can make all the difference.

Thrive patients are also welcome to access a complimentary phone consultation, where we can briefly review your situation and discuss possible pathways for your care.

We’ve just invested in a new Shockwave Therapy machine to bring even more targeted treatment options to our physiotherapy patients.

Shockwave Therapy delivers controlled acoustic waves into injured or chronically irritated tissue. These waves stimulate circulation, activate the body’s natural healing response, reduce pain signalling, and help break down stubborn scar tissue or calcification that can limit recovery.

This allows us to treat deeper and more persistent musculoskeletal conditions with greater precision.

Shockwave therapy can assist with:

• Chronic tendon injuries
• Plantar fasciitis (heel pain)
• Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow
• Shoulder calcification and rotator cuff pain
• Achilles tendinopathy
• Patellar tendon pain (jumper’s knee)
• Hip bursitis and gluteal tendinopathy
• Chronic muscle tightness and trigger points
• Long-standing scar tissue or fascial restriction

At Thrive East Victoria Park, our focus is always on targeted treatment, restoring movement, and helping the body heal properly — not just masking pain.

Shockwave Therapy – Coming Soon.

If you’ve been dealing with a persistent injury that keeps returning, this new technology may be an important part of your recovery plan.

Does an injury keep coming back?

Many people experience an injury, receive treatment, feel some improvement…

…and then some months later the pain returns.

It’s something I see regularly in clinical practice.

Often the issue isn’t that the injury can’t heal – it’s that the body hasn’t been supported through the full recovery process.

Pain reduction is only one part of recovery.

Understanding Why Injuries Occur

Most injuries actually begin with some form of physical overload – whether through sport, work, exercise, or even repetitive daily movement.

The body is resilient, but when a particular structure is placed under repeated strain, tissues such as muscles, ligaments, tendons or joints can eventually become irritated or injured.

In many chronic cases, the original injury may have developed from repetitive stress over times.

For an injury to properly resolve, treatment needs to address several layers of the body including muscle functions, ligament integrity, tendon health and joint movement, while also identifying the physical factors that contributed to the injury in the first place.

A Structured Approach to Recovery

At Thrive Wellness Centre, recovery is approached in a structured way that may involve a combination of therapies aimed at:

Reducing inflammation

Restoring movement

Supporting tissue repair

Depending on the individual situation, treatment may include:

Acupuncture or Dry needling

Therapeutic ultrasound

Shockwave therapy

Targeted manual therapies for muscles, joints, and ligaments

These therapies can help created deeper anti-inflammatory responses while supporting the body’s natural healing processes.

Supporting the Body’s Healing Process

Recovery may also benefit from targeted naturopathic support, where professional-grade therapeutic medicines are used to assist tissue repair, reduce inflammation and support the body’s recovery capacity.

In some cases, supporting the body’s recovery may also involve therapies that enhance oxygen delivery and tissue repair.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, for example, can assist by increasing oxygen availability to injured tissues. This may help support cellular recovery processes, circulation and healing in areas that have been under prolonged stress or inflammation.

Allowing the Body Time to Rebuild

Equally important is allowing the injured structure time to rebuild strength.

This sometimes involves temporarily reducing the activities or movements that are repeatedly stressing the injured area, while gradually reintroducing strength, stability and controlled movement through rehabilitation.

As healing progresses, patients are guided through simple take-home strategies, including:

Targeted stretching

Gentle Yin-style mobility work

Progressive rehabilitation exercises

These strategies are designed to rebuild strength, stability and movement confidence.

Why Some Injuries Keep Returning

A common reason injuries return is that the original stress on the tissue has not been fully addressed.

For example:

Continuing repetitive movement patterns

Returning to sport of activity too quickly

Underlying weakness in surrounding muscles

Reduced mobility or joint stability

When these factors remain, the injured structure can continue to experience strain even after the initial pain settles.

Addressing these contributing factors is often an important step toward achieving long-term recovery rather than temporary relief.

Looking at the Whole Picture

When these layers of recovery are addressed properly, the body is far more likely to regain long-term resilience.

A Thrive Wellness Centre, our goal is to help patients understand what their body actually needs to recover.

Because sometimes the most important step toward healing is simply having clear information about your health.

When an Injury Hasn’t Fully Resolved

If you’re dealing with an injury that hasn’t fully resolved, you’re welcome to reach out.

Out of curiosity – have you ever had an injury that seemed to heal but kept returning later?

After many years in clinical practice. I’ve learned that recurring injuries often make much more sense once the whole picture of the body is properly assessed.

A Coordinated Approach to Recovery

If you’ve been injured at work, recovery should feel supported, structured, and cleary guided.

At Thrive Wellness Centre, workplace injury care is delivered through a coordinated approach that focuses not only on the injury itself, but on the entire recovery process – including physical rehabilitation, nervous system recovery, and long-term resilience.

Our clinic brings together a range of complementary health services under one roof, allowing different therapies to work together when appropriate. This integrated model helps ensure that treatment is not fragmented and that the recovery process can progress in a structured and supportive way.

Depending on the nature of the injury and the patients needs care may involve services such as:

Physiotherapy

Chiropractic care

Remedial massage therapy

Acupuncture

Naturopathy and nutritional support

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Far infrared light therapy

Having these services available within the same clinic allows us to coordinate care where needed and ensure that patients receive the most appropriate support at each stage of recovery.

Workplace Rehabilitation & Functional Recovery

At Thrive Wellness Centre, we have the capacity to support workplace injury rehabilitation across a range of recovery stages and physical training levels.

Every workplace injury presents differently. Some patients require gentle early-stage rehabilitation, while others benefit from progressive strengthening and conditioning as they prepare to return to normal work duties.

Our rehabilitation approach is designed to adapt to the individual’s injury, physical capacity, and stage of healing.

Early stages of rehabilitation may focus on:

Reducing pain and inflammation

Restoring joint mobility and movement

Supporting tissue healing

Nervous system recovery

As the body begins to recover, rehabilitation can gradually progress toward:

Strength rebuilding

Functional movement retraining

Stability and coordination work

Conditioning and endurance development

Preparing the body for workplace demands

A unique advantage of out clinic is that we have direct access to a fully equipped gym facility next door, allowing rehabilitation programs to expand beyond the treatment room when appropriate.

This enables patients to participate in structured gym-based rehabilitation programs, helping rebuild strength, stability, and confidence in their body following injury.

For many workplace injuries, this stage of rehabilitation is critical. Controlled and supervised strengthening work can help:

Restore physical capacity

Improve movement patterns

Reduce the risk of reinjury

Prepare the body for the physical demands of work

Because care is coordinated within the same clinical environment, patients can move progressively from treatment to active rehabilitation in a safe and supported way.

Supporting Safe Return to Work

A key goal of workplace injury rehabilitation is helping patients return to work safely and sustainably,

At Thrive Wellness, we can understand the importance of communication and coordination within the Workers Compensation process. Where appropriate, we can work alongside patients, case managers, and referring practitioners to support the recovery pathway.

Rehabilitation programs are designed to help individuals gradually rebuild the physical capacity required for their role. This may include functional strengthening, movement retaining, and work-specific conditioning to ensure that the body is properly prepared before returning to full duties.

By focusing on both treatment and functional recovery, our goal is to help patients regain confidence in their body and reduce risk from further injury.

A Whole-Person Approach to Recovery

Workplace injuries rarely affect just one part of the body.

Pain, inflammation, nervous system stress, fatigue, and reduced physical capacity can all influence the recovery process. For this reason, our clinic follows a whole-person approach to rehabilitation, supporting both the injury itself and the broader systems involved in healing.

Part 2: Mitochondria, Inflammation & Whole-Body Healing

At its core, HBOT addresses two major drivers of chronic and degenerative illness:

Mitochondrial dysfunction

Chronic systemic inflammation

Oxygen Where It Matters Most

Under hyperbaric pressure, oxygen dissolves directly into plasma, allowing it to reach tissues that may otherwise be poorly oxygenated. This results in:

30–40% increased oxygen absorption

Direct delivery of oxygen into organs and tissues

Enhanced cellular energy production

This oxygen-rich environment:

Fuels cells directly

Supports mitochondrial repair and efficiency

Improves tissue resilience and repair capacity

System-Wide Benefits of HBOT

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been shown to:

Reduce systemic inflammation

Support immune function and infection control

Kill or inhibit certain pathogens

Improve nervous system function and signalling

Enhance stem cell mobilisation and function

Promote faster healing and recovery

Conditions That May Benefit From HBOT Support

These effects make HBOT a valuable adjunctive therapy for individuals with:

Autoimmune conditions

Degenerative diseases

Chronic inflammatory conditions

Certain infections

Autism spectrum conditions

Post-surgical recovery needs

Impaired stem cell function

Cognitive decline and dementia

Part 1: Muscle Repair, Inflammation & Cellular Recovery

Healing is not just about time—it’s about oxygen, energy, and cellular communication.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a powerful supportive therapy that works by increasing the amount of oxygen delivered to tissues under controlled pressure. This creates a biological environment that encourages repair, reduces inflammation, and supports recovery at a cellular level.

HBOT and Muscle Repair

Under hyperbaric conditions, research shows an increase in satellite cells at the site of muscle injury. Satellite cells are specialised stem-like cells responsible for muscle repair and regeneration.

Studies, including work by Oyaizu & Yamamoto (2018), demonstrate that HBOT:

Enhances muscle regeneration

Increases satellite cell activation at injury sites

Accelerates recovery following muscle damage

This is particularly relevant for:

Sports injuries

Post-surgical muscle trauma

Chronic musculoskeletal pain and weakness

From Inflammation to Healing—Faster

One of HBOT’s most important actions is its ability to accelerate the transition from an inflammatory state to an anti-inflammatory, healing state.

Rather than suppressing inflammation entirely (which the body still needs), HBOT:

Shortens prolonged inflammation

Supports resolution and tissue repair

Reduces secondary tissue damage

This shift allows the body to move into recovery more efficiently, leading to faster and more complete healing.

Choosing the right program or treatment plan is key to achieving your wellness goals and creating changes that actually last. Health isn’t about quick fixes or chasing symptoms — it’s about understanding what your body truly needs and supporting it in the right way, at the right time.

This is where naturopathy takes a different approach.

Rather than focusing on a diagnosis alone, naturopathic care looks at the whole person. In my experience, symptoms are not the problem — they are signals. They’re the body’s way of communicating that something beneath the surface needs attention.

During a consultation, I take the time to explore what’s really driving those signals. That might include inflammation, ongoing stress, hormonal imbalance, digestive strain, or long-term overload on the system. Often, it’s not just one thing, but a combination that has built up over time.

I’ve been working in natural health for over 30 years, and time and again I’ve seen that when the body is properly supported, it has an incredible ability to restore balance. With the right nutrition, targeted herbal medicine, and practical lifestyle changes, the body can begin to settle, stabilise, and heal — without being forced or rushed.

My approach is calm, clear, and evidence-informed. It’s about creating a plan that works with your body, not against it, and supporting change at a pace that’s sustainable for you.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start, choosing the right program can make all the difference.

Detoxing is so personally rewarding I’ve been doing it since the age of 18. I have been extremely fortunate to have landed on my feet studying natural medicine right out of high school- who knows what my health would have looked like if this hadn’t happen?

Just like you and most of us in our community, we have fallen into habits that that have become part of our western culture. We eat highly processed foods from very large supermarket companies who package them and put preservatives to keep them “fresh“ for longer.

We consume dairy, wheat, sugar, meats and deep-fried JUNK FOODS that our government and community members have invested in and sell to us as “good” foods. In small portions these products seem to be okay for us to eat, and some I would even recommend, but in excess many of these foods are causing inflammatory responses which can cause chronic inflammation and long lasting health issues.

When I was growing up, we had advertising about smoking tobacco and how cool and safe it was. They would always show people having fun, doing sports while smoking and showcase high profile fit healthy people, including doctors, who were paid to be in ads telling us it was fine We were silly enough to believe, believe our government and believe TV stations Since cigarettes the same thing has happened over and over and over with many products that we consume including alcohol, sugary drinks, fast foods, lollies, etc.

So, detoxing really should be a way of life for all of us. We should use it in a way that helps us break away from these “normal” foods which may help regulate or curb our cravings. Studies have shown that sugar is more addictive in the brain than cocaine, imagine that and its available in every corner shop. This has created a massive issue in our communities, such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, fatty liver, and many cancers.

Detoxing from these foods, eliminates our natural way of thinking to reach out for these particular groups of food and it makes us more aware that perhaps we shouldn’t be eating so much of it. During a detox we learn to eliminate some of these foods that are causing us to be chronically sick. I see patients every week that are in a chronic state of inflammation and they don’t even realise until I point it out! We look around and we see others that are just like us, and we don’t realise that it is not healthy. Are we brainwashed? Or just pretending it’s not really happening to us and our families

Detoxing helps to reduce inflammation because you’re cutting out foods that are causing your system to have an inflammatory affect, foods like gluten dairy alcohol acidic foods like meats and many more.

Weight loss is a reaction of a Detox which is a well welcomed reaction to all of us. When we eliminate bad foods while in our detoxification weeks, we drop weight healthily. I have had patients lose 6 kg in two weeks and they are amazed plus, they get such great results they do it for longer periods. Majority of people who have done my detox have joined again on multiple occasions BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU FEEL GREAT

Detoxing in short periods throughout the year seems achievable for many people and this way you can eat a fairly normal western diet, but with your Detox program scattered through the year you keep yourself in check The more you Detox, the better your diet becomes overall! It gets cleaner and cleaner, your inflammation becomes lower and lower, and you feel the benefits!

The number one benefit I feel every time I do a detox is less joint pain and for those of you who suffer with joint pain/arthritis/ rheumatism/ or from long term injuries you know this pain is horrible. By doing a detox you will feel a 50% or more relief from your pain, it is truly amazing!

I also feel more switched on, my focus comes to me straight away, I get excited about life again and I’m able to wake up earlier with purpose and more desire to do things! I clean my house, I go through all the cupboards and declutter my house which helps declutter my brain

All your hormones become more balanced, and your moods become stable. Toxins seem to block and way you down, so suddenly when they’re not there, you feel wonderful/happy.

Better sleep, less stress/anxiety, you feel more nourished, because probably at this stage, you’re eating proper whole foods you breathe easier and deeper as you’re moving physically more and more, you have more planned exercise which oxygenate your blood, making you think clearly, it’s a beautiful feeling!

I have always had the motivation to detox by myself, and I realise that not many people can, so I offer a group detoxification program and I’ve designed it to be as easy as possible. I do a one-on-one phone consultation which highlights specifically what your detox looks like for you. I prescribe herbal vitamin mineral supplementation’s that will help you with this detoxification process. We have a closed Facebook group (maximum of 20) which we all commit to checking in twice a day and give some interaction to keep us all in focus for the two weeks. We are helping motivate each other, posting what we have done, posting what we are eating, posting what exercise/movements we are doing.

Start to think about your future! Please look up my next two week Detox Program and put your name down or simply call my office 94783869 and they will advise you on the next start date

I guarantee you will be impressed!
