Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury, disease and disorders through physical methods — such as exercise, massage, manipulation and other treatments — over medication and surgery.
Many people think that physiotherapists mainly work with back and sports related injuries, but that is not strictly true. Physiotherapists are highly trained health professionals who provide treatment for people suffering from physical problems arising from injury, disease, illness and ageing. Their aim is to improve a person’s quality of life by using a variety of treatments to alleviate pain and restore function or, in the case of permanent injury or disease, to lessen the effects of any dysfunction.
Our physiotherapist aims to work closely with our clients and their individual injuries which may have been present from birth, acquired through accident or injury, or are the result of ageing. Through guided specific rehabilitation programs our goal is to educate, retrain, activate and strengthen the particular areas of your body to help alleviate symptoms, achieve identified goals and prevent future injury recurrence.
Our Physiotherapist is part of a department that also includes the work of our Exercise Physiologist, and as with all our therapists at Thrive, they work as an integrated team to ensure you receive the best treatment possible.
