As an Occupational Therapist treating people with soft tissue dysfunction, Chanti Slade has a slightly different focus to most health professionals. Her focus is on what occupations a person has in their daily life, based around task analysis of what those occupations require and what likely strains this will place on the body.
Chanti manually treats the areas of the body that are in dysfunction while making suggestions on how to change movement patterns and ergonomic set up to reduce the impact. She assesses the clients postural balance and address issues of symmetry through the pelvis and spine using strategic muscle release.
Chanti uses a combination of myofascial release, trigger point, active release, lymphoedema drainage, fatigue management and kinesio taping and occasionally ergonomic assessment. The goal of an Occupational Therapist is to help people manage and excel in their professional and leisure roles.
Thrive’s Occupational Therapist Chanti Slade, BSc (Occupational Therapy), has been practicing in soft tissue for 10 years in a clinic along side chiropractors and masseurs. It is common for her to treat clients with chronic pain, post injury and surgery, lower back pain, epicondylitis (golfer/tennis elbow), lymphoedema, headaches/migraines and occupational issues. We welcome her knowledge and expertise to the Team.
